EDUCATING STUDENTS
- SCoRE leads the Sustainable Communities Summer Internship Program, in collaboration with the Office of Community-Based Learning.
- SCoRE serves as the backbone organization of the RCE Greater Atlanta, a region-wide network affiliated with the U/N that advances the SDGs through Education for Sustainable Development.
- Through SCoRE's Student Assistants Professional Development Program, students gain professional skills and exposure to sustainable communities related projects; please contact Kris Chatfield if you're interested in working for SCoRE.
- Periodically, SCoRE faculty teach or co-teach courses related to sustainability, community engagement, environmental justice, and equity; check out an example HERE.
SCoRE's Teaching Toolkit provides instructors with a library of lesson-planning resources to integrate sustainability, community engagement, and service-learning into their courses.
SUPPORTING AND TRAINING FACULTY AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS
- SCoRE runs faculty development programs to support faculty in forging and stewarding sustainable communities research and education partnerships with community-based organizations; check out an example HERE.
- With regional and national partners, SCoRE supports and leads symposia, workshops, and training academies that support relationship - and partnership-building at the intersection of community, equity, sustainability, and technology. Check out an example HERE.
SUPPORTING SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES EDUCATION ACROSS GEORGIA TECH
- SCoRE collaborates with CTL and participates in the Undergraduate Sustainability Education Committee (USEC), supporting faculty engaged in community-based research and teaching.
- SCoRE coordinates shared programming and resources with the Office of Community-Based Learning (CBL), helping faculty, partners, and students identify appropriate resources and curricular and co-curricular opportunities at the intersection of sustainability and community-engagement. CBL is Georgia Tech's home for non-thematic service-learning and community engagement.
- SCoRE supports the Sustainable Cities Minor in partnership with the School of City and Regional Plannin with student advising, promotion of the Minor, and tracking participation and graduation rates.
- SCoRE serves on the Anchor Institution Coordinating Council (AICC), which is dedicated, in part, to creating continuity and coherence for local community-based partners, by bringing together the many community-engaged or community-facing offices at Georgia Tech.
